CIA boss reviews security for Obama?s visit

The chief of America?s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Leon Panetta, held a series of meetings on various security-related issues with top Indian officials, including Union Home minister p Chidambaram, during a two-day visit to the country.

Security preparations for US president Barack Obama?s November visit to India topped the agenda, reports said on Sunday.

Panetta, who arrived here from Pakistan on Friday night, met Chidambaram and top officials on Saturday and discussed several issues concerning regional security and intelligence sharing mechanisms to fight terror.

Panetta also met Intelligence Bureau chief Rajiv Mathur, RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) chief K C Verma and home secretary G K Pillai.

During the discussions, counter-terrorism initiatives as well as greater Indo-US cooperation in security-related matters also figured.

The discussions also broached on Pakistani-American terror accused David Coleman Headley, who was recently questioned by an Indian team in the US.
