CWG scam: CBI frisks Kalmadi?s lockers
After rounding up his closest aides, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) seems to be closing in on sacked Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) Chairman Suresh Kalmadi as it searched three of his bank lockers here.
An FIR now seems very likely against the Congress MP from Pune, media reports said.
Kalmadi had been removed from his position in the OC on Jan 24 by the Union sports ministry after accusations piled up on him and his associates over pulling off a huge financial swindle in the run up to the Games held in Delhi last October.
The searches in the three lockers started off at around 3 pm, in the presence of Kalmdai?s wife and ended late Tuesday night.
The lockers had been sealed by the CBI in December last year when it raided Kalmadi?s residential and office properties in the city.
