CWG scam: CBI raids DDA, CPWD officials? premises

The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Tuesday raided 20 premises of officers of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and a private firm in connection with the Commonwealth Games (CWG) case.

The raids were carried out after the CBI registered the ninth case in its CWG scam probe, pertaining to criminal conspiracy and anti-corruption laws.

The latest raids were done in connection with alleged irregularities in laying of synthetic turf for lawn bowl event during the Games.

The searches were carried out in Delhi and National Capital Region locations.

The office and residences of several DDA and CPWD officials were searched, along with the office of a private company Jubilee Sports Pvt Ltd.

The CBI has been conducted search operations in the CWG scam since it took over the case last year and has seized substantial evidence during the raids.
