Defamation suit against Rahul Gandhi and Digvijay Singh

A local court has accepted a defamation suit against Congress General Secretaries Rahul Gandhi and Digvijay Singh for equating outfits like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) with terrorist organisations.

The Judicial Magistrate court heard the matter on Monday and posted the case for Nov 22 following a writ by RSS activist Mukesh Pedwa against Rahul and Digvijay under IPC sections 500(defamation) and 153 (provocative statements).

Pedwa’s lawyer Minesh Pandey told the court that while Digvijay compared the RSS with Lashkar-e-Taiba, Rahul had allegedly said the RSS was like the banned outfit SIMI.
