Devas-ISRO: BJP takes on PM

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday said a hidden hand is trying to save the Devas-ISRO deal on the scarce S-band being gifted to a private company without any competitive bidding.

“There is a hidden hand trying to save this deal and that is my charge,” BJP senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, showing a report in Economic Times on Devas official meeting PMO officials even two weeks back.

“I want to ask the PM how do you run the government if you did not know?” he said addressing the media here.

“This is a scam,” he said, adding that no competitive bidding was held before granting the band to Devas.

The Indian government on Thursday ordered a high-powered probe into allegations of the country?s space organisation ISRO virtually gifting precious S-band spectrum to a private firm- Devas.?
