Free National roaming to come into effect before Oct: Sibal

New Delhi, March 07 (ANI):Union Telecom Minister, Kapil Sibal said on Thursday that national free roaming service which is to come into effect before October 2013, will prove to be a blessing for the mobile users.

This service was supposed to get implemented from March, which has been postponed till October this year. Telecom operators opposed the move of freeing roaming charges ever since the National Telecom Policy was announced in 2012, as they were concerned about their revenues from the service.

Sibal also said that the recommendations of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) would be considered.
