French Prez Nicholas Sarkozy to visit India on Dec 4
France President Nicholas Sarkozy will be landing in India on Saturday on a four-day visit to discuss matters of counter-terrorism, technological collaborations among other affairs, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday.
The delegation accompanying the President will include a number of ministers from the French administration.
In India, he would be visiting Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bangalore where he would see the Indo-French Megha-Tropiques Satellite being jointly developed by ISRO and CNES, the French counterpart of ISRO.
Later in the day, he is expected to leave on a private visit for Agra. On Sunday, he would visit the Taj Mahal as well as Fatehpur Sikhri and then arrive at New Delhi in the evening.
In New Delhi, he would have a restricted meeting with the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who would also be hosting a private dinner in the honour of the visiting dignitaries.
On Dec 6, there will be delegation-level talks at Hyderabad House followed by signing of agreements and a Joint Press Conference.
President Sarkozy would also be meeting with the President Pratibha Patil.
On Dec 7, he would leave for Mumbai where he would be visiting the Police Memorial honouring the victims of the 26/11 terrorist attack.
