Fresh attempt to defer Ayodhya verdict by Ramesh Chandra Tripathi

New Delhi : A petitioner, who unsuccessfully attempted a stay order from a court to defer Ayodhya verdict due on September 24 (Friday), has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court to defer the judgement on Ram Janambhoomi-Babri Masjid case.

The petitioner, Ramesh Chandra Tripathi, the same man who lost his plea before the Allahabad High Court on Friday, said the verdict should be deferred till the end of the Commonwealth Games and the dispute referred to arbitration or conciliation process.

The petitioner said that a large number of forces were needed to contain possible fallout as the verdict may result in communal tension, but the forces were busy in CWG, J&K and Bihar elections.

Tripathi was fined Rs.10 lakh by the Allahabad High Court, which said the petition had no merit.
