Happy for hat-trick win after poor start: Adam Gilchrist

Kings XI skipper Adam Gilchrist was happy after his team registered their third consecutive win in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a 48-run win over Rajasthan Royals at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Thursday.

“Three in a row after a poor start. It has been a bit of a stop-start tournament, seems like the tournament is just beginning. Paul backed himself, and Shaun was brilliant,” said Gilchirst.

Asked about his own form, Gilchrist said: “Not too bad. It’s all helter-skelter. Don’t know much about form in this form of the game.”

Man of the match Shaun Marsh was elated after the team’s hattrick of wins in IPL.

“All the boys played well, and we are feeling good at the moment. First time I have got a few off him [Warne], usually he gets me out pretty early. I do enjoy playing here, great place to play cricket. Having a lot of fun at the moment,” he said.

Royals skipper Shane Warne said: “Not the ideal starts. Two no-balls could have been two wickets. After that we lost our way. Adam and Paul played really. We pulled them back a bit, but we got off to an ordinary start ourselves.

“Trying to stay calm (when the no-balls happened), but it’s not easy. Something you can’t do in Twenty20 cricket. We got outplayed, we didn’t do a lot of basic stuff well,” he said,
