I am unhappy with irregularities in govt: PM
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday said he was unhappy with the irregularities in his regime that led to the corruption charges while he was happy to have been able to steer the country through the global economic downturn and not affect growth.
Referring to the irregularities in his regime on corruption, he told the TV channel editors at an interaction that: “I am not very happy about these developments.”
He had called the interaction to clear the charge that he was a weak prime minister condoning corruption.
On his achievements, he said despite an unfavourable economic condition globally, his government could ensure that the growth of the country was not affected.
The PM said he was not that much of a “culprit” as he was being shown.
“I never said I did not make any mistake. I want to say that I am not that much of a culprit as I am being shown,” he said speaking on corruption and governance and charges that he was a weak prime minister.
He said the government will also act on black money contorversy.
“It is not true that we have not dealt with black money problem,” he said, adding that international treaties will be revised.
He said his government will take all possible measures on black money and will try to bring back the money from foreign banks.
The Prime Minister earlier said he was no lame duck and would effect a cabinet reshuffle after budget presentation.
He promised to bring down food inflation to 7 percent.
He said he is not scared of facing the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe on any corruption issue.
He said in coalition government, compromises are to be made.
“I know my responsibilities, but I have some constraints too. In coalition politics you have to make compromises to manage a coalition government,” he said.
“There has been no back room talks (on ISRO-Devas),” he said, replying to a question by a channel editor on the S-band controversy.
He said efforts are on to ensure the budget session functions with Opposition unlike the winter session which was deadlocked over the demand for a JPC by the Opposition.
One another Congressman on the Mission opening up all doors for Corruption and Loot, by justifying the compromise on Coalition Dharma, Subsidy on 2g, Unaware of backdoor deals or accepting weakness to tackle. With the Country’s outcry on Corruption and taken steps to sack and arrest some, now justified as subsidy on 2g PM even tried to prove SC also wrong. No acceptance morally by PM on Black Money or Inflation and also that the country was LOOTED UNDER TABLE by his Govt. Is Coalition Dharma [ keep the eyes closed, Loot and let Looted the Country ] is higher than Raj Dharma [ govt with Honesty and Integrity ] Mr PM?
