An Indo-China joint statement is expected on Thursday soon after the talks between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and China’s visiting Premier Wen Jiabao here as the two neighbouring countries have expressed willingness to sort out many contentious issues.
” It is necessary to ease restrictions concerning approval procedures, capital flow and entry and exit of people, thus creating more favourable conditions for mutual investment,” Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao told the Indian corporate bosses after his arrival here on Wednesday.
India would also raise the issue of stapled visas for Kashmiris, Chinese presence in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and also the boundary issue, sources said.
India’s bid for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will also likely to come up for discussion as India needs solid support from Beijing.
Beijing has not so far spelt out its stand on India’s aspiration to be a permanent member in the UNSC.
