IPS officer’s murder: Chouhan orders judicial inquiry

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Friday ordered a judicial inquiry into the brutal Holi day murder of Indian Police Service officer Narendra Kumar, run over by a tractor loaded with illegally quarried stones in Morena district when he tried to stop it.

“I have given orders for a judicial inquiry so that a detailed report could be submitted into the incident,” Chouhan told media persons after holding a meeting with senior officials here.

He said the state high court has been requested to appoint a judge to head the inquiry.

The 2009 batch IPS officer was on deputation period and had made sub-divisional officer (police), Banmore, only 45 days back.

“Since he was posted there, he was working very hard and acted tough on illegal mining in the area. His name was terror against criminals,” Chambal Deputy Inspector General D.P. Gupta told reporters.
