ISRO to annul Devas deal ?

New Delhi, Feb 12 (IBNS) Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday said its commercial wing Antrix?s deal with Devas Multimedia will be annulled.

??In view of the priority to nation’s strategic interests, the deal between Devas-Antirx will be annulled,? ISRO said in a statement.

?The decision came following a meeting of the country?s highest decision-making body on space policy, the Space Commission, here.
?
?Headed by K Radhakrishnan, the Space Commission decided to restructure Antrix. A full-time chairman will also be appointed for Antrix.
?
?The Antrix-Devas deal will be studied by a two-member probe and the report would be submitted by March 9, it was further decided in the meeting.
?
?The deal has left the government embarrassed as it has emerged that the contract was not scrapped even more than a year after different departments within the government had detected lapses in it.
