Justice Patil’s report names 2G beneficiaries

New Delhi, Feb 11 (IBNS) The Justice Shivraj Patil’s report into the 2G spectrum allocation named Tata Teleservices as one of the prime beneficiaries of procedures that were made to suit certain companies during the regime of the National Democratic Alliance.

In another investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)?and Enforcement Directorate believe that former Telecom minister?A Raja?could have gained personally by putting?the state exchequer in huge loss due to selling of spectrum at undervalued rates at Rs 40,000-50,000 crore, media reports said on Friday.

Justice Patil also mentioned in his report to the government how?Swan Telecom was benefited during A Raja’s tenure as minister.

According to the report, in October, 2003 Telecom Regulatory Authority of India recommended multi-stage bidding for new licences, and four days later?the TRAI recommendations were approved by the NDA cabinet.
