Justified criticism by justice kumar of karnatak high court
Justice DV Shylendra Kumar of Karnataka High Court has rightly questioned propriety of a Chief Justice talking to media when the conduct-code number nine in ?Restatement of Values in Judicial Life? drafted on 07.05 1997 by all the judges of the Apex Court bars judges talking to media, that too at a time when the case filed by Public Information Officer at Supreme Court of India on aspect of wealth-declaration by judges is pending at Delhi High Court. Any view on the aspect by Chief Justice of India may tend to affect the verdict.
Otherwise also, constitution of India keeps all judges of Supreme Court at par in all aspects except the senior-most being crowned as Chief Justice. Justice Kumar is justified to say that a Chief Justice cannot speak on behalf of all the judges.
