Key Indian Stock Market Turns Flat On Tuesday

Mumbai, Oct 20: On Tuesday, Key Indian stock market indices opened marginally higher and were trading flat in the early hours of the session, in line with the Asian peers.

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened 37.98 points higher at 27,402.90 points, against the previous day’s close at 27,364.92 points. But after 15 minutes of trading, it was ruling flat at 27,366.21 points, up merely 1.29 points.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the Nifty was also ruling flat at 8,270.60 points, albeit with a marginal loss of 4.45 points, or 0.05 percent.

On Monday, the two major indices had gained a little over 0.5%, on account of some better-than-expected corporate outcomes for the Q2 of this financial year, notably the 12.5% jump in the net profit of Reliance Industries, the market leader.
