LeT militant killed in Kashmir

A Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Abu Omer aka Jhangvi has been killed, while the two militants are still engaged in a gunbattle with security forces in border district Rajouri of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Giving details of the encounter, Inspector General of Police (IGP) (Jammu) Dilbag Singh told IBNS that in the forest in Dera ki Gali, there were three militants holed up in a hideout and among them one has been shot dead.

“It is not clear yet who the slain militant is, but as per details available to me, the killed militant is a non-local and has been identified as Abu Omer aka Jhangvi,” Singh told IBNS

He said that the reports suggest that two more militants trapped in the forest are LeT commanders Suhail aka Abu Jabar and Chhota Fauji.

Singh further said that last time this group of militants had managed to escape when near Sarankot Jammu, security forces had trapped them and in that battle, two non-local militants Huzifa and Usman were killed.
