Manmohan Singh reiterates talks offer on Kashmir
New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday reiterated the government?s willingness for a negotiated solution to the Kashmir unrest.
?We are willing to talk to every person or group which abjures violence, within the framework of our Constitution,? Singh said at the Combined Commanders? Conference here.
Stating that the unrest in Jammu and Kashmir was a ?matter of concern?, Singh said, ?The youth of Kashmir are our citizens and their grievances have to be addressed. We have to ensure better delivery of services and generate avenues for economic advancement for the people of that State.?
The prime minister?s remarks are crucial as it come ahead of a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meet later on Monday where the Kashmir issue will be discussed threadbare and a working solution to the present unrest is expected to be worked out.
