Mayawati takes U turn says she respects Ansari
New Delhi : A day after scathing and unprecedented attack by Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari, the House today came together to express its support and faith in the chair.
Though Mayawati did not make any apology, but said that she has “faith” in the chairman, and urged him to get the Bill seeking reservation in promotions for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes passed.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that respect for the Chairman of the House, was necessary for the dignity of the House.
Assuring the chair of his cooperation, Leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley said that he will assure that the House speaks in one voice.
