MIG-21 crashes, pilot killed in Rajasthan
Jaipur : A MiG-21 Bison fighter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed Monday while landing at Uttarlai airbase in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, killing the pilot, an officer said.
The aircraft crashed at about 9.30am and the pilot “suffered fatal injuries”, the officer said, adding the aircraft was on a routine training sortie.
There was no reported loss to civilian life or property.
“A court of inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of crash,” defence ministry spokesperson Colonel S.D. Goswami said.
