Muslims celebrate Id-ul-Zuha with gaiety across India

New Delhi : Id-ul-Zuha is being celebrated across the country on Wednesday with great enthusiasm and devotion. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh have greeted the people on this occasion.

President Mukherjee, who greeted fellow citizens on the occasion, said the spirit of sacrifice and service is the essence of the festival of Id-ul-Zuha.

“It is an occasion to remind ourselves of the path of selfless sacrifice and forgiveness followed by Hazrat Ibrahim and to emulate the same,” he said in his message.

President Mukherjee further said may the festival knit all the people of India in a celebration of our composite culture.
