NDA leaders call on Ramdev
New Delhi : Ramdev’s campaign against black money and corruption Monday drew support from BJP president Nitin Gadkari and Janata Dal-United leader Sharad Yadav who met the yoga guru on his stage.
Gadkari and Yadav called on Ramdev at the Ramlila Maidan before he was detained by police as he led protestors towards parliament. Members of the Akali Dal were also present on the dias.
Speaking at the venue, Gadkari said his party will actively support his protest. “Ramdev’s agitation should not be seen from political lenses,” he said.
“Ramdev is fighting for a corruption-free India and has no political intentions. The black money stashed in banks abroad should be brought back and spent on farmers and the poor,” he added.
