New website of rajya sabha

After being a pioneer public-authority in dealing with RTI petitions, Rajya Sabha Secretariat has taken yet other lead in launching its all-new website. It now incorporates a sub-field ?Declaration of Assets & Wealth by Members?. But surprisingly this field does not provide such details for individual members. Rather it just provides form and rules for members to submit such declaration to Rajya Sabha Secretariat.

Rajya Sabha Chairperson should direct compulsorily incorporating details of assets and wealth of its members and of their family-members on Rajya Sabha website. Even criminal cases against members as declared with Election commission should also appear on the website. Payment-defaults of members towards government-departments and public-sector bodies should also be exhibited on the website. These websites should be portraying as ?Open Book? about Parliamentarians? negative and positive features. Websites and sue-motto disclosures under section 4(1) should be so elaborative that need of filing RTI petitions may be minimised to the extent possible. Website should also have a guest-book column where visitors may be able to post their views about Rajya Sabha and its members.
