Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Gadkari left for Beijing on Wednesday on a five-day goodwill visit to China.
He is being accompanied by wife Kanchan Gadkari and a delegation of senior party leaders.
During its five day trip, the BJP delegation will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. While in Beijing, Gadkari is likely to meet a senior leader of the Communist Party of China for wide-ranging talks on issues of mutual concerns and areas of common interests.
Gadkari?s itinerary includes a meeting with the leaders of the Chinese Association for Bamboo and Vine Industry. He is also scheduled to visit the bamboo and agricultural products processing enterprises.
A visit to Yanqing County for a field study of the new energy development and recycle project in the rural area, a visit to one of the largest solar power plants in China and a visit to the new energy research institute have also been planned.
