No plan to kill Rahul Bhatt: Headley
David Coleman Headley, a co-conspirator in the 2008 terror strike on Mumbai, said he befriended Rahul Bhatt, son of Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, and was to bring him to tribal areas of Pakistan for ?sight seeing?.
However, he denied of any plans to kill Bhatt.
On Day 4 of Tahawwur Hussain Rana’s trial in Chicago, Headley said he had warned Bhatt to stay out of south Mumbai days before the 26/11.
“There was no plan to kidnap or kill him. We do not invite guests and kidnap them. Nothing would happen to him because LeT does not believe in kidnappings,? Headley told defence attorney Charles D Swift.
“I was told that as a matter of creed, I should not think of him as my friend,” he added.
Bhatt was a trainer in a posh Mumbai gym where Headley befriended him.
Headley, a conspirator of the Nov 2008 attack on India?s financial capital that killed over 160 people, including six Americans, testified against his former schoolmate Rana who allegedly provided logistical support during his [ Headley’s] recon missions.
