Noble thought of Nitin Gadkari
BJP President Nitin Gadkari has taken a right decision for not contesting any elections. Being a president of a national party which incidentally happens to be the main opposition-party, is in itself a very responsible task requiring full-time attention on party affairs exclusively. Holding another post as Parliamentarian will neither do justification to party-affairs nor to voters having elected the person as a Parliamentarian etc.
System should be formulated whereby a Parliamentarian, state-legislator or member of civic-body may not be able to hold any other post either in government or in party or even in any other private body or organisation so as to devote full time in service of his/her constituency and voters.
Even only non-members having contested no elections in last five years may only be made ministers thereby making Parliamentarians/state-legislators king-makers rather than lobbying for themselves to get lucrative power-filled ministerial chairs. System will largely reduce legislative expenses besides inducing experts as ministers. Then it will be possible to limit maximum ministerial-strength to 10-percent of strength of lower House as per original recommendations of Administrative Reforms Commission.
