Noted economist Arjun Kumar Sengupta dies at 73
New Delhi : Noted economist and Rajya Sabha member Arjun Kumar Sengupta died on Sunday after being admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for respiratory trouble.
Sengupta (73) is survived by his wife and a daughter.
Expressing grief at his sad demise Vice-President Hamid Ansari said, ”Sengupta will remain with us for his contributions as a special secretary to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Ambassador of India to the European Union; Member, Planning Commission and Chairman of National Commission for Enterprises in the unorganized sector.
