Objectionable content case: Hearing put off till May 23
A Delhi court Tuesday put off till May 23 the hearing on a complaint against social networking sites, including Facebook India, for allegedly hosting objectionable content.
Metropolitan Magistrate Surabhi Sharma Vats deferred the hearing after complainant Vinay Rai’s counsel S.P.M. Tripathi said that summons were not served on the accused foreign-based companies.
The court allowed the pleas of Facebook India and Orkut from personal appearance, while Yahoo India told the court that the Delhi High Court had quashed the criminal charges against it.
