Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called on President Pratibha Patil on Saturday and the two discussed the ongoing Parliament stalemate among other issues.
The two discussed the situation in the Parliament where the logjam is in its third week as the opposition refuses to budge from its demand of a joint-parliamentary committee probe into the alleged 2G spectrum scam.
The four-day state visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy also featured in the meeting that lasted 45 minutes, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.
The Prime Minister briefed the President on his upcoming visit to Brussels for attending the EU-India Summit where talks on the free trade agreement (FTA) between the two parties are expected to progress.
The President spoke on her just-concluded state Visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Syria.
They also discussed about the current rate of economic growth in the country and various other issues of national and international importance, the statement said.
