PM pulling up Cabinet colleagues over CWG misleading: PMO

The Prime Minister?s Office (PMO) on Saturday refuted media reports that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had ?pulled up? his Cabinet colleagues for the Commonwealth Games (CWG) mess.

?The Prime Minister has seen reports in a section of the media that he ‘pulled up’ the Group of Ministers (GoM) in charge of Commonwealth Games. Such reports are misleading,? the PMO said in a statement.

It added that the Prime Minister ?appreciates the difficult job the GoM has on its hand and he has been encouraging the ministers and officials concerned to work together extra time to make the games a success?.

Reports on Friday had claimed that Singh had vented his displeasure at the CWG controversies and sub-standard work and pointed his anger at Union Sports Minister MS Gill and Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who is also head of the GoM.
