PM seeks cooperation from states to deal with Maoist menace
New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday sought cooperation from the states to deal with the Maoists menace.
Addressing the chief minister’s conference on internal security, Singh said that Maoist violence has no place in our democracy.
He also urged the states to come up with better measures to counter terrorism. The prime minister also stressed the need for communal harmony in the country.
The conference started with home minister Sushilkumar Shinde outlining the various internal security threats facing the nation.
