Police arrest Indian Mujahideen militant in Bihar

Darbhanga : A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and local police personnel have arrested a top militant of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) in Bihar.

The NIA team which had come from New Delhi arrested the militant Mohammad Danish Ansari from his house at Chakjora village late in the evening on Monday in the state’s Darbhanga district along with the help of the local police.

Danish has been touted as one of the top aides of IM co-founder Yaseen Bhatkal and had been one of the most wanted persons in the police’s list.

Danish, against whom a non-bailable warrant was issued by the NIA special court last year over the charges of providing shelter to Bhatkal, who is involved in various blasts and is now allegedly hiding in Pakistan would be taken away to New Delhi.
