Poor visibility made President to cancel Jangipur trip

Kolkata: President Pranab Mukherjee  canceled his trip to  Jangipur in Murshidabad district, as his helicopter could not take off due to poor visibility, airport sources said.

The president, who arrived at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here after delivering the Indira Gandhi Memorial Lecture at the Asiatic Society here on Monday morning, returned to Delhi by a special aircraft as the weather did not improve.

The president was originally scheduled to fly to Jangipur to participate in the closing function of the K.K. Mukherjee Memorial Football tournament.
