Is it not a tactful move of Union Law Minister to dump the issue in cold-storage when he deliberately induced a defective ?The judges (Declaration of Assets and Liabilities) Bill 2009? which was ought to be resisted even on its presentation not only by Opposition but even by those at treasury benches? If Union government is really sincere to induce accountability in judicial system which admittedly incorporates corruption, it should not only present the revised bill after deleting its controversial clause 6, but even passed in this very session of the Parliament along-with the other bill on judicial accountability as mentioned by Veerappa Moily in his speech. Or otherwise implementation should be immediately affected by issue of an ordinance.
It is high time when UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to intervene for implementation of judicial accountability and public-declaration of wealth of judges in a time-bound like she did in implementation of ?Right-To-Information Act?, to give a healing touch to those having suffered a lot by misconduct and corruption in higher judiciary.
