Rashid Will Withdraw Case Against Ink Attackers
New Delhi, Oct 20: Engineer Rashid is an independent legislator from Jammu and Kashmir and on Tuesday, he said that he will quit the cases against those who threw ink on him here on a previous day.
“I am withdrawing the cases against the two (attackers) as I believe they are misguided by some fringe elements,” Rashid told.
He said, “They are not the only ones. There are many more across the country. I have sympathy for them”.
On Monday, Rashid said the ink attack on him outside the Press Club, “is not a big issue. The core issue needs to be resolved”.
He added the fundamental rights of people should not be violated by anyone by describing India as a “so-called democracy”.
The little known Hindu Sena claimed responsibility for the ink attack on Rashid, who was previously beaten up by Bharatiya Janata Party legislators in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly for hosting a beef party.
