The high-powered review committee set up to ascertain the procedural aspects of the controversial agreement between India?s space organisation and private firm Devas filed its report to the Prime Minister on Saturday.
Stung by criticism and opposition snipes, the union cabinet on Feb 17 had decided to cancel the controversial S-band spectrum deal between Devas and Antrix, the commercial arm of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
It had also formed the committee, comprising of B K Chaturvedi and R Narasimha, to review the the technical, commercial, procedural and financial aspects of the agreement and suggest correctives and responsibility for lapses if any.
The report, filed on Saturday to the Prime Minister, has been referred to the Cabinet Secretary for examination and to make recommendations on follow up actions within 15 days, said a government news release.
The Prime Minister?s office had come under fire from the opposition, since it directly supervises the Department of Space which is said to have allowed the controversial deal that gave away precious S-band satellite communication spectrum at throwaway prices to Devas.
