Hyderabad : Hyderabad police Saturday announced Rs.10 lakh reward for anybody providing information about the people involved in Thursday’s twin blasts, in which ammonium nitrate and timer devices had been used.
Addressing a news conference, Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said the identity of the person giving the information would be kept a secret.
He said no arrests were made in connection with the blasts which killed 16 people and injured over 100. “We are working on different leads but don’t want to take hasty decisions,” he said.
The police chief said the CCTV camera near the blast site was functioning and police had collected the footage and were scanning it. He however refused to divulge details about the investigations.
He claimed that police had increased surveillance, and also clarified that only 15 out of 265 CCTV cameras in the city are not functioning.
The police commissioner said ammonium nitrate and timer devices were used in the blasts.
To another query, Sharma said six special teams were formed to probe the blasts.
