A small nine-seater plane flying from Patna to New Delhi with a critical patient crashed over a residential house at Faridabad near here killing at least ten people.
Officials said ten bodies were recovered from the crash site at Faridabad’s Parvatia colony where the plane crashed around 1035 pm owing to bad weather.
There were seven people on board the aircraft, including the two crew members, which was a medical ambulance and all were killed, reports said.
Others killed could be those on the ground, possibly residents of the two-storeyed house.
An official said there could be more bodies.
TV footage showed fire raging from the house over which the plane crashed.
The ill-fated plane was a Pilatus PC-12 single-engine turboprop passenger aircraft.
Initial reports said the plane was about 16 nautical miles away from Delhi and had started its descent when the crash occurred after it was found missing from the radar.
The plane was flying at a lower altitude and had got caught in a gusty wind, initial reports said.
The plane crashed with a huge explosion in the residential area.
According to TV reports, the patient on the plane was identified as 20-year-old Rahul Raj.
He was being taken to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi from Jagdish Memorial Hospital in Patna.
