Popular tourist destinations Shimla and Manali saw the season’s lowest temperatures Thursday at minus 3.8 degrees Celsius and minus 7.4 degrees respectively.
Shimla recorded 5.4 cm of snow and Manali 4 cm from Wednesday to Thursday morning.
“The entire belt in Kinnaur, Shimla, Lahaul and Spiti and Kullu districts witnessed moderate to heavy snowfall,” a Met official said here.
Upper areas like Narkanda, Jubbal, Kotkhai and Kharapathar experienced heavy snowfall.
Kalpa, 250 km from Shimla, saw 16.6 cm of snow. It recorded a minimum temperature of minus 10.6 degrees, a fall from Wednesday’s minus 3 degrees.
Shimla and Manali also recorded a fall from Wednesday’s minus 1.6 degrees and minus 1.2 degrees respectively.
Dharmsala recorded a minimum of 2.1 degrees, a fall of two degrees from Wednesday’s 4.1 degrees.
