Sportswoman Sonu Singh thrown out of train, loses leg
A young sportswoman lost her leg after she was pushed out of a train on Monday night in Uttar Pradesh by some men who allegedly tried to snatch her chain.
23-year-old national level sportswoman Sonu Singh was on way to Delhi from Faizabad when the incident occurred on Padmavat Express between Chenati and Bareilly railway stations, police said.
She was going to Delhi to appear for an examination.
Reports said when she tried to resist, she was thrown out of the train by the robbers.
The girl is now in a hospital in Bareilly.
Railway Police said they were not informed about the incident initially.
ADG Railways AK Jain said she was found on the track at 4 am on Tuesday.
He said she still has the gold chain and there was no robbery in the train.
He said since the incident was still not clear they would go by the girl’s statement now.
