New Delhi : Three people were killed and 11 were injured in two road accidents here within 24 hours, police said Friday.
Two youths died and seven were injured in a collision between a Honda City car and a mini-truck here Friday around 6 p.m. in west Delhi’s Alipur area.
The deceased have been identified as Ashish, 25, and Amit, 30, both residents of Narela area.
They were going home with four neighbours when their car rammed into a mini-truck.
Three people in it were injured and were rushed to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) hospital.
In another incident, a 22-year-old property dealer was killed and four people were injured in a head-on collision between two speeding cars, police said Friday.
The incident occurred around 1.30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg. A case has been registered.
Police said that a speeding SUV hit an Audi car from behind. The Audi’s driver lost control and it collided head-on with a Honda Jazz.
Deepansh, Nikash, Vipul and Saral – who were in the Honda – were injured. They were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where Deepansh, a resident of west Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area, was declared dead. The other three are being treated there.
“The youths were on a joyride and were returning from India Gate when the incident took place,” police said.
Priyanka Kakkar, who was driving the Audi, was rushed to a private hospital from where she was discharged after first aid.
