Trinamool ministers to hand over resignation letters at 3 p.m.
New Delhi : The Trinamool Congress ministers are to hand over their resignation letters to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at 3 p.m. and after that meet President Pranab Mukherjee.
Announcing this here Friday, Trinamool leader and Railway Minister Mukul Roy said: “We will go to the PMO at 3 p.m. and hand over our resignation letters, and then go to meet the president at 4.30 p.m.”
Roy along with five other Trinamool ministers arrived in the capital to hand over the resignation letters, three days after the party dramatically announced it was quitting the UPA government over its economic policies.
The Trinamool, with its 19 MPs, quit the government in protest against the diesel price hike, a cap on subsidised cooking gas cylinders and FDI in multi-brand retail.
