UP accident : 11 killed, 8 injured in jeep-truck collision

Lucknow :  On Monday the police said that at least eleven people, five of them women, were killed and eight others injured when a jeep collided head-on with a truck in Jhansi.

The accident occurred late Sunday night when the jeep loaded with passengers was coming on the wrong side of the road and rammed into the truck.

The accident happened at the Gwalior highway, the Senior Superintendent of Police Sabharaj told IANS

Five people were killed on the spot while six others died in the hospital.
