Union Home minister P Chidambaram on Monday stressed that the United States had been sharing information on LeT operative David Coleman Headley even after 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Chidambaram said that the US was reviewing the information gathered on Headley as well as his confessions and the details will be further shared with India once the full review was over.
?What US knew and when they knew about David Headley vis-a-vis 26/11 is a matter under full review in US and that they will share it with India once the review is over.?
The Union Home minister?s remarks come after his Cabinet colleague and External Affairs minister SM Krishna stated that the US had only shared “very general” and “non-specific” information before the Mumbai terror attacks.
Union Home Secretary GK Pillai had also echoed Krishna and said he was ?disappointed? that US had not shared enough information.
Chidambaram?s remarks are being viewed as an attempt to appease the US authorities ahead of US President Barack Obama?s visit to India later this week.
