Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag has been ruled out of the remaining of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a shoulder injury and is also certain to miss India’s tour to the West Indies.
Sehwag will fly to London Tuesday to undergo a surgery on his shoulder. The injury has plagued Sehwag for a long time, causing him to miss two T20 world cups in the course of his career and the one day series in South Africa earlier in the year.
?We will miss Virender Sehwag as he has been the pillar for Daredevils. But we also know how important it is for Sehwag to get the surgery done and be fit for future matches. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will soon be back in action for both Daredevils and India,? said P B Vanchi, Director, GMR Sports, owners of Delhi Daredevils.
James Hopes, captain of Queensland, will lead the Daredevils for the next three matches. The team is looking forward to James Hopes providing leadership in the remaining matches of the IPL.
