Want to achieve closer ties with India: Julia Gillard

New Delhi : Visiting Australian Prime Minister has today said that strengthening bilateral ties was the key agenda of her state visit to India.

She said this soon after getting a ceremonial reception at Presidential Residence in New Delhi.

Gillard was accorded the guard of honour in the presence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a fleet of central ministers and foreign diplomats.

Gillard also met External Affairs Minister SM Krishna.
