A wanted terrorist was killed in a joint operation by the Jammu and Kashmir police and the army in the Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir, police reported on Monday.
The killed terrorist has been identified as the Abdul Rehman, Divisional Commander, North Kashmir of Pakistan-based terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
Another terrorist has been killed in the operation, the police said.
The joint operation was started at Moldari Wadder forests on Saturday.
Earlier on Monday afternoon three militants were killed in an encounter at Qamarwari Chowk area of Srinagar.
The ultras fired at the cops killing a constable when they were intercepted in the heart of the state capital.
In retaliatory fire, three militants died, police said.
Meanwhile, a top ranked terrorist of Hizbul-Mujahideen (HM) outfit surrendered before police and army along with arms and ammunition in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.
The wanted terrorist has been identified as Ab Majid Sheikh.
The surrendered terrorist handed over one AK 74 rifle with two magazine and 59 rounds.
