Water tank collapses in Bhopal, kills at least 7
Bhopal : A water tank collapsed in Bhopal today in the wee hours killing seven and injuring over 30.The overhead water tank of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) collapsed at Saibaba Nagar at around 1 am.
The locals blamed the administration for the slow response by emergency services and failing to act on their repeated calls for repairing the deteriorating tank. The Army arrived at the scene of the accident in the morning to conduct rescue operations and clear the debris.
Madhya Pradesh chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced compensation of Rs. 100,000 each to the family members of those killed in the incident.
