We have to rebuild Tamil Nadu: Jayalalithaa

Tamil Nadu’s chief minister in waiting J Jayalalithaa, whose party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) got a landslide victory over the DMK, on Friday said the state has to be built again since the outgoing government has ruined it completely.

“It is not an easy task to rebuild an entire state. We have to clear away the debris and build the entire house,” she said.

“It is a difficult task, but we take up the challenge for the people of Tamil Nadu,” she said.

She said each time Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) ruled, they have ruined the state almost beyond repair.

She said the rule of law has to be restored first and fulfill all the promises made in election manifesto.

She said people were totally disgusted with the DMK and when they got a chance they threw out the government.

“Today our priority is to form the government and rebuild Tamil Nadu. Over the past five years Tamil Nadu has been ruined,” she said.

“I thank the people. It is their victory,” she said.

In Tamil Nadu, out of the 234 seats trends available, AIADMK is leading in 198 seats while DMK and alliance are ahead in 36 seats.
