Weather in UP drops sharply, signals early onset of winter
Lucknow: On Monday, the minimum temperature in the Uttar Pradesh capital and other parts of the state has gone down sharply, signalling the early onset of winter, a weather official said here.
The Met official informed that in the last three days alone, the mercury has dipped by over five degrees Celsius. “There is a nip in the air during early mornings as well as the evening.”
Regional Met director JP Gupta said, “If the present climate continues, winter would set in by the first week of November”.
He said the minimum temperature on October 22 was 21.2, which by October 25 slipped to 15.5 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature, however, is hovering at an average of 33 degrees Celsius.
